While I was away at the Lake the locals had a very successful art show back here in Orlando. Message from Facebook: "All Arts Against Hungerraised over $2,000, which is enough to buy 18,964 cups of food. Yes, it really is that easy to change the world" (A.R.) Congratulations to everyone involved! And an extra thank you to those who took pictures of my art for me since I wasn't able to attend!
Time: September 18 · 7:00pm - 11:00pm
Location: SWI Photographers
150 West Michigan Street, Suite D
More Info: 1 in 6 people in the world are chronically hungry—a problem that is completely within our reach to solve. All Arts Against Hunger seeks to unite Central Florida’s top artists across a variety of mediums to use the beauty that we create as human beings as an expression of compassion. In addition to a full evening of live artistic performances, there will be a silent auction with a fantastic line-up of pieces from artists including Hannah Braden, R.V. (Robin van Arsdol), The Pottery Syndicate, and many others! Tickets are $10 at the door and include two drink tickets. All ticket proceeds, donations, and funds raised go directly to the United Nations World Food Program.
Live artists include live painting by Divine Chi, performances from the Center for Contemporary Dance and Cracked Pot Tribal, the Poetry Vending Machine, and Lone Hymnal.
