Crafty Punky Brunch!

We decided to do a craft brunch this time for our monthly Punky Moms brunch.  It was pot luck style, the lovely Paula hosted and we all got to work on various projects.  It was wonderful!  Here are some of the finished products....

As well as some works in progress...

Have you seen this site?  All I can say is facinatingly wonderful!!!

Went Back

Went back to Big Lots and picked up 4 12 x 12 canvas.  Now I have no reason not to paint!  They also had some 16 by something and 24 by something sizes, also only $5!

Urban Renewal Super Lucky Cat Jersey Tank Dress

This adorable dress is in the sale section of UrbanOutfitters.com but I can't help but think how easy it would be to make! I'm adding it to my long list of things to sew in the back of my mind... The top looks like a (for lack of a better name) wife beater T and the skirt is just gathered at a high waist!

Meanwhile, here are a few more cuties for you:

Bargains

Who'd have thunk... Big Lots and TJ Max had some awesome deals on ribbons, scapping paper, and more today!!!  I'll have to remember to look more often! Should have got that $5 canvas I saw too, maybe I'll go back...

Friday Fun Day

I've been kind of quiet this week because I came down with a cold.  But while I was home I finished up the hairclips and listed them in etsy... and a few things on E-Bay too.  Check out my links on the RIGHT ----->

We have a charity dog walk tomorrow, it's only supposed to be a high of 55, so wish us luck!  We personally raised $125 towards the Central FL SPCA.  Go US!  Have a nice weekend and a HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

Quickey

I bought this pendent at JoAnn's Saturday and a ribbon to hang it on but I didn't like the ribbon so I took apart a broken rosary I had and made a chain for it, see?

Speaking of patterns....

I came across this link and said to myself "Man I probably have half these patterns in my collection!" but it would take hours to find them.  SO my question is, how do you keep your sewing patterns organized?  I was thinking of making binders.  Putting the patterns in sections of types.  I used to have them organized by Maker & Year but they have since gotten mixed up while looking for certain ones and selling others.  Does anyone else use binders?  Do you just put the cover in a sleeve or the whole pattern.  And how do you catorgorize them?  Give me some ideas here....

Close but....(link in title)

In search of a blouse pattern like THIS, I came across this cute wrap top.  Definately going on my "maybe I'll make this someday" list

Hair Clip PART II

So I just couldn't wait and was in much need to create....
Here is version #1 of my vinyl/feather Hair Clip (this is closest to the original inspiration clip...)

I searched and found a flower template which turned out to be almost exactly like the original. I traced it on the vinyl fabric and cute it out. Then I trimmed down some black feathers to fit the size and hot glued them on. In my search for the perfect middle I ended up gluing a black sequin to the back of a glass bead, then glued that to a gold leaf sequin and glued the entire piece in the middle of the feathers already on the vinyl. Add a clip backing and WHAAALAAAAA!

There will be more to come...

Rip off Rue de Vamp Design

I saw their post here http://ruedevampdesigns.blogspot.com/2010/02/anthropologie-knock-off-ideas.html right after getting an email from Anthropologie with THIS top in it:

I am in LOVE with this top and don't want to spend $78 on it. So I must find a pattern or make one myself....

Hair Clip

I wore this awesome clip today that I got at Ross for a few bucks....

And I'm totally going to use this as inspiration to make some of my own, except from material I already have so the vinyl will be black as well as the feathers! I'll post when I get to working on them!

Vinyl Art

Paula got me thinking the other night about all the 45's I have in her garage... here are some inspiring ideas of what we can do with them!
